SAINT PAUL, Minn. — Minnesota Milk Producers Association held its annual Ice Cream Day at the Capitol event in St. Paul on May 7. During this event, farmer members of the state’s dairy advocacy group shared ice cream with legislators and their staff while engaging in meaningful discussions about current policy priorities.
“I volunteered to help at Ice Cream Day to be a voice for dairy farmers in Minnesota and share our story,” said Anthony Anderson, a dairy farmer from Stone Dairy in Henning.
Farmers spoke with policymakers, sharing the role dairy plays in Minnesota and their personal experiences on their farms. The event was held inside the Capitol’s popular Vault room, directly below the rotunda.
“Ice Cream Day at the Capitol is always one of my favorite events, and this year was a huge success,” said Lucas Sjostrom, Executive Director of Minnesota Milk. “We distributed over 400 ice cream treats to attendees and participated in many positive conversations, sharing our love for dairy.”
